ABOUT NEXUS
The NEXUS Working Group on Impact Investing is the most influential Global next-gen group in impact investing. This working group is a promise and an aspiration of NextGen investors, bringing together NEXUS members who are passionate about impact investing and managing impact throughout their activities of investing in social enterprises, and philanthropy.
Investors, social entrepreneurs, researchers, advisers, and philanthropists come together to accelerate impact investing globally through education and broadening investment opportunities.
Looking for a 3 to 6-month full-time unpaid intern in NYC to support and develop the NEXUS Working Group on Impact Investing. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to be at the forefront of the movement of impact investing.
Working Group on Impact Investing Internship
Main responsibilities (working with the Chair of the NEXUS Working Group on Impact Investing):
– Organize the bi-weekly speaker series and the quarterly global speaker series, research speakers and plan the series for the next 6 months.
– Ensure appropriate recording of the speaker series and minutes.
– Publish the monthly newsletter.
– Social media management of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on a daily basis with relevant content for the NEXUS Working Group on Impact Investing.
– Organize and plan bi-monthly Salons with panels on dedicated topics in NYC, West Coast, Boston, Washington, D.C., Europe, South America and Asia.
– Research speakers and relevant investors in impact investing.
– Follow up with all requests from potential members.
– Participate at the NEXUS Global Summit from July 26th to 28th as a volunteer for the NEXUS Working Group on Impact Investing coordinating the dinners, content pitch contest, guest lists, etc.
– Develop a strategy for partnerships with Universities and other conferences given the past year’s experience.
– Coordinate bi-weekly calls with the steering committee.

Candidates should also Possess:
- Demonstrable interest/background in social entrepreneurship, international affairs, activism, communications, and/or community organizing.
- Strong writing skills.
- Willingness to take initiative and the ability to collaborate effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to learn quickly and to meet deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, follow-up, and administrative skills as well as attention to detail.
- Commitment of 20+ hours a week starting January 2018. The end date is flexible.
- Internships are unpaid and tuition-free. Interns must be based in the Washington, DC area for the time period of the internship.
