Delegations

DELEGATIONS

Intended to build community, strengthen connections and explore key partnerships, NEXUS has led delegations all around the globe, partnering with some of the world’s most preeminent organizations.

NEXUS hosts annual delegations to the UN General Assembly, COP, the World Economic Forum in Davos, the Milken Global Conference, the Sundance Film Festival, SXSW, SLUSH and more.

NEXUS convenes its members via Delegations to connect with high-level partners committed to similar principles of doing good.

Recent NEXUS Delegations have included high-level meetings with President Macron and the French Government around climate change, with the leadership of the Vatican about impact investing and with the royal family of the Kingdom of Bhutan about their Gross National Happiness Index.

NEXUS High-level COP26 Delegation
Led by the Working Group on Energy Innovation & The Environment

The window of time left to substantively address the climate crisis has continued shrinking despite the pandemic: climate migration has begun, opportunities for drought are increasing, and air pollution continues to rise. In recognition of these and other current events, COP26 will be seen as an opportunity to foster real and lasting multilateral cooperation. Dozens of countries around the world have signed on to The Leader’s Pledge for Nature, signaling a reinvigorated intent to tackle the climate crisis. Additionally, a newly emboldened United States of America will be seeking opportunities to return to its leadership role on climate. COP26 will be a time where the world can reset and establish a new, unified focus on the climate crisis.

Opportunity for Impact

The NEXUS Working Group on Energy Innovation and Environment understands the importance of COP26, and is looking forward to joining other major stakeholders in assisting the transition to a just and sustainable future. The Working Group is already strategizing on two high-level initiatives: The United Nations-convened Net-Zero Asset Owner Alliance, and an expansion of Article 6 of the Paris Climate Agreement. The Working Group has implemented plans to engage with several high-level partners on these issues, including the high-level climate champions, a bipartisan delegation of U.S. Congresspeople, and the White House.
