NEXUS Latin America (LATAM)

History of NEXUS in Latin America (LATAM)

NEXUS LATAM America was one of the early chapters of NEXUS outside the USA hosting its inaugural summit in Brazil in 2013. The initial impetus for NEXUS Brasil was to provide an environment for leaders of the new generation of large Brazilian business families and social entrepreneurs to be able to come together and learn from one another. Since then the network has grown to more include more of the Latin American region and gone on to host two more Forums in Miami in 2016 and 17.

Mission

Today, NEXUS LATAM’s mission is to provide an environment for leaders of the new generation of large Latin American business families and social entrepreneurs from across the continent to be able to come together, deepen personal connections, learn from and inspire each other and grow together as changemakers.

As income inequality deepens throughout the world, NEXUS LATAM must create a bridge between the communities of the world economic elite and social entrepreneurs in order to facilitate dialogue, education and problem solving in a collaborative way in order to ignite the brightest minds and most promising business and philanthropic initiatives who are catalyzing solutions.

By Inspiring younger generations about the importance and forms of philanthropy and social investment on a global scale; we can strengthen the new set of Latin leaders in the international and intersectoral fields.

Goals and Actions

NEXUS LATAM’s goals are to:

  • Discuss and reflect on this moment of change throughout the continent and on the legacy, our generation wants to leave
  • Create and strengthen links throughout the continent in order to learn from each other’s experiences
  • Articulate and strengthen existing initiatives or to generate new ways of doing things
  • Deepen in the reflection on the stage of philanthropy and social investment in LATAM and possible new paths for better results
