It is no question that, as humans consume more and more resources, the amount of waste has been increasing. NEXUS member, Naps, believes we can use the product-as-a-service business model to shift our economy towards a more environmentally sustainable path.
Relying on the experience he gained from the ten years working for his family’s Thailand-based mattress business and inspired by what he learned at the NEXUS Asia Summit 2015 in Beijing, Naps has created nornnorn, an innovative, Circular Economy-based mattress subscription service for hotels, resorts and hospitality businesses. It is founded by Naps Nophol Techaphangam, an impact-driven entrepreneur with extensive experience in the sleep industry and the Founder and a Co-Country Director of NEXUS Thailand.
His goal is to eliminate the upfront investment on mattresses, thereby lowering the access barrier to high quality mattresses for small, independent hospitality businesses. At the end of each subscription cycle, the used mattresses are collected back and disassembled and their components recycled.
Naps plans to grow nornnorn first in South and Southeast Asia before expanding it globally. He hopes to inspire established companies to adopt the Circular Economy-based approach and fellow entrepreneurs to create businesses that generate positive environmental impact.
Naps is the Founder and a Co-Country Director of NEXUS Thailand and a Foundation of Science and Technology Council of Thailand Model Business Person of the Year 2012. He was featured in Forbes Thailand in 2013.
